National Volunteers Week 2021

Volunteers Week 2021

May 21, 2021

In commemoration of National Volunteers Week, the Greek Welfare Centre (GWC) recognises the vital role volunteers play in delivering the GWC programs and services to the community – our Volunteer Program has always been a very important part of the Greek Welfare Centre in Adelaide and South Australia.

This year, the dedicated GWC volunteers were presented with a gift of hand-made Greek biscuits as a token of our gratitude.

We would like to personally thank our volunteers for providing their unconditional care and support to our clients.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Greek Welfare Centre on 08 8212 5100.

Testimonials from our past GWC volunteers:

‘Some people are so lonely and we (the volunteers) are the only people they might see for a few days.’

‘I love seeing the smile on their face every time I visit.’

‘It has given me a purpose.’

‘The clients are so grateful that we give them a little of our time.’

‘I’ve realised that if we ALL did something to help others, even in the smallest way, the world would be a much better place.’

‘I’ve realised that a little kindness goes a very long way.’
