Greek Meals Service Volunteers

GMS volunteers deliver nutritious meals to clients in their homes. It is with the valued support of volunteers that meals are delivered and friendly words are exchanged. This social interaction is beneficial to the wellbeing of those in our community in need, and, all too often, the only contact they may have.

‘Some of them are lonely and they so look forward to my visit…’ (Volunteer)

  • Do you have a few hours once a week or a fortnight?
  • Drive your own vehicle and receive a petrol reimbursement.
  • Must have Driver’s Licence and full comprehensive vehicle insurance.
  • A police clearance is required – at no cost to you.

‘Some people are so lonely and we (the volunteers) are the only people they might see for a few days.’

‘I love seeing the smile on their face every time I visit.’

‘It has given me a purpose.’

‘The clients are so grateful that we give them a little of our time.’

‘I’ve realised that if we ALL did something to help others, even in the smallest way, the world would be a much better place.’

‘I’ve realised that a little kindness goes a very long way.’
