Carer News

Carers come in all shapes and sizes; young and old, knowing and unknowing!

The caring role is often very demanding affecting a Carer both emotionally and physically.

Did you know that Carers:

  • Are 40% more likely to suffer from chronic illness and health issues such as back problems, anxiety and depression are directly linked to their caring role.
  • Are more pone to being socially isolated and chronically tired leading to anger, guilt, grief and stress. These can then lead to conflicts within relationships and frustrations amongst family members.

The GWC facilitates a Carer Support group which has significant advantageous outcomes. An annual retreat day is also held to afford them an opportunity to have fun and focus of their own well-being. To join, please contact our Centre on 8212 5100.
